When I return to my hometown of Ottawa I head immediately to Caffé Mio! There are few restaurants in Ottawa that understand this disease fully but Robert has FANTASTIC gluten-free pasta available and staff are fully aware of the do's and don'ts for us.
Last evening I had a meal of Caprese Salad - dressing perfect, not cloying; Pasta Beata (chicken, artichoke, peppers and a white wine dijon cream sauce - DIVINE!) followed by fig and port tartufo. Atmosphere is wonderful and the staff super-friendly. This is a MUST GO!

Of course, it was the eleventh hour when I called and tried to make an evening reservation on Valentine’s Day. And, of course, like everyone else they were completely booked but they did call me back and I was so happy that they could squeeze us in.
We enjoyed the best meal we could have hoped for. The house red (forget the varietal) was so perfectly pared with the shrimp appetizer, Gamberi Di Amaretto. And the chardonnay was lovely with the escargots.
Our entrees were equally delicious and in spite of the fact that it was a very busy evening for Napoli’s, the food arrived at our table fresh and hot and the service was perfect. Water glasses were always topped up and we were never left unattended for long. The servers were very friendly and approachable and it all made for a fantastic dining experience.
We also didn’t feel over-crowded in this ‘full-to-capacity’ restaurant. Our table provided plenty of elbow room and the table conversation was easy to hear in spite of people. We were very comfortable and happy to be enjoying the wonderful atmosphere.
We can’t wait to have dinner at Napoli’s again.

There is a science to cooking pasta right, you cant just throw everything in a pan and cook it. You can tell they take their time with each dish, and it just tastes magnificent. Decided to try Zola's breakfast again...it was excellent. I had breakfast several months previously and did not find it very good. However this visit was excellent. I had the breakfast special...two eggs over easy with sausage and homefries. The eggs and sausage were very good. The home fries are at least equal to any I have tasted in the city. breakfast come with a fabulous fresh fruit cup and a rosemary spiced grilled tomatoe and great artisan ancient grain bread. I have finally found my breakfast place of choice.No need to go elsewhere best breakfast in the city.

We were greeted at the door by a respectful very friendly young woman named kirsten, then brought to our nice roomy comfortable booth at the side of the restaurant. we were greeted by our server straight away, Tina, who Brought our first round of drinks. Once we saw the menu we ordered nice and quickly, the menu was quite detailed. Salad and bread was brought to our table and the feast began. when tina brought our food to the table i joked that i might have to take it home. I was able to eat a couple of pieces and she kindly packed the rest up for me.
I enjoyed the NY theme in this resaurant. I will return to this east side mario's often i had a great time and felt like i was a guest in their home.
